Looking around for #OpenSource Abletron Live alternatives and foound Ardour: https://ardour.org/
Seems like a big project. I like that it's scriptable, although I prefer Python to Lua.
Remains to be seen if the UI will require the kind of dedicated learning time that, for example, has kept me from using Blender for more stuff.
Ah, Ardour has a rather annoying payment model, even though they are open sourced.
Not that I mind paying something. More that I don't like how they went about it.
