The US National Weather Service posted a 'Red Flag' fire warning for my area today through Wednesday. This morning I can see why…
It's hot, dry, and the wind is blowing hard. If a forest fire got going up here in the Cascades right now it would be unstoppable.
Here's wishing for a week of rain!
Follow-up: no fires near me (thank ghu), but smoke spilling over the mountains from Eastern Washington fires are making things rather hazy outside. Not supposed to be salubrious health-wise either.
Weather report says winds will shift today and blow the smoke back over the mountains. Which is good, but I'm still worried about a forest fire starting closer to me.
In any case, they've extended the extreme fire danger warning for the North Cascades through Thursday now…
