It is morning here in Birmingham at the Tolkien 2019 conference. I'm sipping a cappuccino in the conference hotel bar and planning my day.
My hotel is a craphole and Birmingham seems designed to get you lost in a maze of one-way streets and everything is too expensive. But I have a tasty cappuccino and will spend the next two days talking about Middle Earth. So it balances out I guess.
Trip back from Burlington to Manchester airport was much easier than the trip down; aside from a moment of panic when I couldn't find the rental car keys at the carpark. (The were in my suitcase.) Now on my flight to Dublin.
After driving across the width of Ireland in a single afternoon I finally made it to my destination: Murphy's Farmhouse. https://www.murphysfarmhouse.com/en-us
Tmorrow I'll be in Killorglin for the Puck Fair. More as it happens, but it's already getting too late to go in tonight and I'm pretty tired. https://puckfair.ie/
I'm in Galway after driving around the Ring of Kerry. Sorry, no pictures yet because I can't connect my phone to the B&B WiFi. Maybe tomorrow?
In any case I was under the impression Galway is a walkable city, but that is definitely not true. Also, I spent most of my time since getting here fixing my luggage, which broke on me two days ago.
Stopped into the #Dublin2019 operations office to check in and immediately got pressed into service as a desk manager. I guess I won't be joining the pub crawl untill quite late, if at all.
